Dark Hope MUD

Built on the idea that MUDs should be fun. What starts as something warm and familiar gradually expands into something that's new, fresh, and exciting. Dark Hope was painstakingly crafted to be different. When you first log in, experienced players will feel right at home, but as your journey grows and evolves, you notice how special the world and its features truly are. Sure, there are the standard skills/spells that other MUDs have, but then there is so much more! From dual-class at level 100 to specialization trees at level 200 that any player can explore regardless of class, there is something for all gaming styles. RP or don't, that's entirely up to you! Early on, you'll notice how different the combat is. You can bust out combos to send your opponent reeling and you can even break bones (or have your own bones broken). There are unique pets called 'mascots' that are savable, grow in power and gain levels along side you, and have their own powers, commands and equipment. There are rare and powerful items called 'artifacts' that are essentially the tools of the gods. Attempt to control them at your own peril. There are over 120 areas spread across 3 distinct regions with many quests and rewards that are sure to keep you engaged for many hours on end. PvP is limited to battles/tournaments in a special arena, and you can choose to be a part of it or not. The entire mantra of the staff has always been, "How cool would it be if we did that?" instead of forcing a stale, stuffy, and generic MUD environment on the players.
